1: Accuracy and corrections

1.1: We strive for the highest standards of journalistic integrity and aim for 100 percent accuracy in our reporting. We have a system in place that fact-checks all our information products before publishing them.

1.2: It is needless to say that we can make mistakes but in such situations, we do not hesitate in accepting our errors and mistakes. We follow a correction policy.

When we correct an error or a mistake, we mention it on the same page under the heading ‘Corrigendum’.

1.3: We follow a Code of Conduct. If you find any of our content in violation of this Code, you can file a complaint here.

2: Use of Artificial Intelligence tools

2.1: We acknowledge that our users have the right to know if and how we use AI and others tools to produce the information products that we serve them. This is a guiding principle for us.

2.2: We do not digitally alter a photograph or a video by using Artificial Intelligence tools or any other software to the effect that could change or misrepresent its meanings.

This does not include routine digital improvements in contrast, color saturation and other similar visual editing parameters related to the quality of an image.

This also does not include alterations done to produce an art work but we make sure that such art work does not get confused with the real and is published with explicit disclaimer.

2.3: When we use an image or a video clip generated through Artificial Intelligence tools, we explicitly declare it by stamping the image with the words ‘AI Generated’.

2.4: Our content creators can take help from AI tools in fulfilling various tasks but we differentiate between taking ‘help’ from these tools and asking these tools to ‘perform’ the job as such.

2.5: More importantly, whatever help do these tools provide has to finally pass through human checks. For example, if a text is translated through an AI tool, it has to be reviewed and revised by a person with expertise in both languages.

Similarly, any bit of information gathered through an AI tool is not used as such for content creation. It is cross-checked in all possible ways and is properly referenced in the content. If the content creator is unable to remove all and any doubts about that bit of information provided by an AI tool but still finds it important to quote it, he/she is required to add a disclaimer.

3: Intellectual property and copyright

3.1: All original reporting, photography, and graphics on this site are the property of Lok Sujag.

3.2: You may share our links and quote small excerpts with a clear backlink to the original article. You are, however, not allowed to copy/download our content and republish it on any other website or social media platform without our express permission. In case of violation, we have the right to take action in accordance with the national laws or policies of the social media platforms.

3.3: You are not allowed to republish or use our content for any direct or indirect commercial purposes/financial gains without a formal license.

3.4: You are not allowed to scrape, republish, or use our content to train large language/AI models without a formal license.

4. User conduct on website

4.1: We are committed to maintaining a safe digital environment in all sections of our website that could host any virtual engagement among community members.

4.2: If you are a Sujag Sajjan and/or a participant in our community engagement sections, you agree to respect others’ views and opinions. You must know how to express difference of opinion while remaining within the bounds of common decency.

4.3: We do not allow hate speech, bullying, harassment, misogynistic, or defamatory comments on our website.

4.4: We also do not allow use of these spaces and opportunities for any purpose that is not related to the main purported objective of that particular engagement opportunity.

4.5: We reserve the right to remove any user generated content that violates these standards. We also reserve the right to ban such user from participating any or all such future engagement opportunities.
